Perhaps you've heard the horrible argument about the nazis all being Catholic. This completely ignores that ever so basic rule of logic. CORRELATION DOES NOT EQUAL CAUSATION. Yes, Germany is traditionally a Catholic nation. But, national socialism was not a Catholic movement. Hitler's new Berlin had no room for cathedrals. To say that religion had something to do with the rise of Third Reich has no sound logic behind it. It simply does not hold up after careful scrutiny.

When did they stop teaching logic in schools?

I'm also reminded of a bumper sticker I've seen around that says "no gods, no masters."
What bugged me most was the fact that I couldn't ask the person what they meant by that. Do they mean that there is no God, therefore no master, or that we should ignore God, denying his authority over us? Yes, if there was no God, we would have no divine master, but that little sentence is hardly a solid case against God. I would appreciate a little elaboration, but I'll never get it.
Has that person really sat down and thought about that statement? Is that statement the result of serious thought, or is it simply an anti-authority rant by an individual who doesn't want to owe anybody anything? I honestly think that mantra came from someone who never grew out of their angst-ridden teenage years.Captain Awesomehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05605878993331611980noreply@blogger.com
